Postgraduate and Undergraduate Learning in the South East (PULSE) offers you (foundation & specialty grade doctors) the opportunity to develop your teaching skills and provides medical students with the benefit of additional focussed training on clinically relevant topics.
This is a programme run by junior doctors for the benefit of both yourselves and for the medical students. The vibrant and innovative workshops provide a range of opportunities to develop your teaching/facilitation skills in a variety of settings.
PULSE is coordinated through the online tutorial booking system (TuBS) which records sessions delivered and provides feedback for tutors. This provides a pathway to achieve the introductory level of the clinical educator programme: a recognised formal accreditation aligned with the Higher Education Academy.
Doctors in Training
This is an exciting time for PULSE. The programme continues to develop and expand with ever more innovative approaches to delivering education. If you want to be part of our PULSE family you can attend one of our 'Induction Evenings' or please contact pulse@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk PULSE Administrator.
Medical students
If you want to attend a session and none are being advertised on TUBS please contact pulse@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk with your name, year of training and the name of the workshop you would like to attend (e.g bedside teaching) and we will see what we can get sorted for you!
We look forward to welcoming you!
