SEFCE | South-East Scotland Faculty of Clinical Educators

Introduction

The South East Faculty of Clinical Educators (SEFCE) is a newly launched initiative between NHS Lothian, the University of Edinburgh and the South East Scotland Deanery, with other regional groups partnering in the future. Its primary aims are to improve the quality of medical teaching and training through faculty development across the South-East Scotland area and to facilitate the management issues such as measurement of teaching and job-planning, recognising that many efficiencies are to be made if the needs of both Undergraduate and Postgraduate teachers are considered together. The initial focus is on medical education and later branching out to multi-professional learning. SEFCE's first Annual Symposium is planned for 30 March 2011 and will focus on teaching and training for patient safety.
